On September 27, Sanrio announced plans to begin selling solid gold Hello Kitty playing cards, which the company will make available through its online shop beginning October 3. Each of the 54 cards (2 jokers included) measures 58 x 89 mm and is made from 0.73 gram of 99.99% pure gold. Pressed to a thickness of 7 microns with precision rolling technology developed by the Mitsubishi Materials Corporation, the cards are sealed in a protective laminate printed with colorful designs that depict Hello Kitty in royal dress.
The reverse side of the cards show Hello Kitty against a background featuring the Union Jack and apples, a reference to the fact that Hello Kitty was born in London and is said to be 3 apples heavy and 5 apples tall.
The cards are priced at 567,000 yen ($4,900).

Tokidoki loves hello kitty
Tokidoki, whom many of you may already love, is working on a collaboration with our favorite Kitty. The news isn’t that hot, but as for my post title, I can prove it!
Well yes they ARE doing a collabo after all rofl. Btw, to those who don’t know what Tokidoki is, it’s an Italian brand that features designs from Simone Legno, very Japanese culture inspired. They make super cute designs too ^^ Btw I got those pics from the Tokidoki blog.
And NOW! I bring you..
Hello Kitty Cactus, designed by Tokidoki! Waaah!! It’s so prickly cute LOL (I apologize) XD Okay, the heart-crossbones is the Tokidoki logo, and the cactus doggie beside Kitty is “Bastardino”, one of the original Cactus Friends. As you can see, this is an apparel line, mostly for bags.
In the Tokidoki site, the Hello Kitty collaboration page isn’t up yet, so I’m guessing this is some sort of sneak preview~
I can’t wait @_@!
Aha! A Hello Kitty pendant! XD |

Platinum and diamond Hello Kitty
With the 2004 Olympic Games finished, my favorite tabloid Mainichi Shimbun has settled back into its daily rhythm of revealing sights you won't find in the East Pacific. Who celebrates the 30th anniversary of Hello Kitty? The same people who make diamond-studded, platinum figurines in her likeness. Not your thing? Try her in a kimono (three colors!). Surfers, racecars, volcanoes, Cold War-era hide-and-seek, Typhoon Number 16-felled trees and an Olympian tail-end are all rolled together in this week's Japanese garnet.

Gold Hello Kitty Business Card
To celebrate its 33rd birthday of Hello Kitty (which was created as Kitty White on 1 Nov. 1974), Saniro has launched memorial Hello Kitty name cards made of 99.99% pure gold. The card has some basic info about the cartoon character, e.g. zodiac sign (Scorpio) and blood type (A). The 8 cm (l) × 4.8 cm (h) sized card is sold at 10,500 yen with tax. (Random Citations)
To make matters worse, they have decided to release two different patterns of the card and then give fanatics the choice of English or Japanese lettering for their name making 4 different options for the Hello kitty fanatic to choose from. Since we have already established that Hello Kitty fanatics don’t make choices, but get one of everything, the result is over $400 for 4 gold business cards

Mitsubishi i Hello Kitty "Princess Kitty" edition
Mitsubishi "i (i)" popular Sanrio characters and "Harokiti" special edition models that collaboration is "PrincessKitty (Princess Kitty)", the Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi from 25 today, has been on display at the ground floor annex.
Well, Mitsubishi has done it. They have created the most quintessentially Japanese car ... EVER.
We bring you, dear Autoblog readers, the Mitsubishi i "Princess Kitty" Hello Kitty limited edition. And by limited, we mean one.
The Princess Kitty is finished in pink, with matching paint applied to the wheels. The Hello Kitty trademark ribbon logo is applied to the front doors and roof, while the rear doors get a "Princess Kitty" graphic with the lovable cartoon character's face. The back window also gets a large Hello Kitty face decal. The sideview mirrors feature Hello Kitty's face in relief.
Inside, occupants rest on pink-and-white striped seatcovers adorned with the "Princess kitty" logo. The headrest covers are the shape of Hello Kitty's head, complete with ribbon on the left ear. It may be the friendliest-looking kei car ever made.
The one-off special will be displayed at the Mitsukoshi department store in Tokyo's Nihonbashi district from July 25th - 31st 2006. From the 25th to the 29th at 10:20 AM local time, interested buyers can register for the opportunity to buy the car. At 10:30 on the 29th, one name will be pulled and that person will be allowed to buy the car for ¥2,100,000 -- 200,000 of which goes to Japan's UNICEF. (For our American readers, that purchase price translates to a little over $18,200 USD.)
The i "Princess Kitty" edition is spec'd as a 2WD i "G" grade, powered by the 660cc turbocharged MIVEC 3-cylinder. It makes 64 horsepower and is mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission.
i (i) G grades (2WD) vehicles, based on left and right rear door, side mirror cover, designed around a Hello Kitty sheets. Ribbon is also a symbol painted on the roof character. In addition, to deal with must-see unique designs such as the shape of a ribbon and Kitty face a headrest covers. Pink body color with limited color models, wheels are painted with a special interior.
This year marks the conclusion of Mitsubishi's and Sanrio's agreement which saw Hello Kitty used in Mitsubishi promotional and advertising efforts. And really, marketing-wise, ending the relationship with this car is the equivalent of going out on top like DiMaggio.
