These are large Hello Kitty figures created by Japanese personalities as part of the "House of Hello Kitty" exhibition put on by Swarovski in Tokyo, Japan in July of 2011 (from 6/30 through to 7/10). The main exhibition was at Omotesando Hills , but these Kitty figures were setup on pedestals at various locations around Harajuku. Each of the artist-created Kitty figures are being auctioned off for charity after the exhibition.
key attraction appears to be the Swarovski x Hello Kitty limited edition 20,000-crystals figure worth a cool $14.8k.
